Red Beret Hotel Cairns Cup Day — Saturday 29th August 2026

The grand finale of the Carnival of Colour calls for your most spectacular look. With four categories and substantial prizes up for grabs, Cup Day Fashions on the Field is the most coveted fashion competition on the Far North Queensland racing calendar.

Fashion Forward (under 30’s) – Celebrate your style with a vibrant, youthful take on race day fashion.

Best Dressed Lady (over 30’s) – Polished elegance meets the colour and energy of the Carnival of Colour.

Best Millinery – High-fashion headwear with structure, drama, and impeccable craftsmanship.

Best Dressed Couple – Complementary styles bursting with colour and personality.

Saturday 29th August

Dress Code

Race day fashion is encouraged across all events. We recommend smart casual to formal attire. Hats and fascinators are popular but not required — unless you’re entering Fashions on the Field, in which case we’d say go all out.
